Well we came, we saw, we con'd. Shmoocon was great for all of us and we enjoyed everyone we met. We had a couple trip ups in our talk but overall it went great. We also took 8th in the Hack competition and we're in 2nd until the very end (we should have read the questions more thoroughly). We also had several members make it to the top 16 of the Halo competition and one member played in the final round. The crew will be returning from DC in a few hours and then over the next week slowly releasing their code. If you would like to contact the group please shoot a line to: afterburn at udarknet dot com or any member's account at that same address. Looking forward to hearing from everyone out there! Stop by our IRC server @ udarknet.com (port 6000 or port 6667 w/ SSL) and say hi! Until next time.
So here is the news:
That's all for now…
The Shmoocon schedule is now officially online. Our talk will be following a similar talk being presented by Travis Goodspeed. Travis is known for his work with attacks performed against the MSP430 as well as other hardware accomplishments. His talk will begin at a very low level implementation and work it's way up to the point of systems integration. While there will be some slight overlap the two talks will hopefully give the audience a great idea on how to get started on construction of their own sensor nodes. That's all for now!
The Circuit Breakers will be presenting at Shmoocon 2009. The talk is entitled “Off the Shelf Security - Meeting Crime with an Open Source Mind” and will be occurring on Saturday, February 7th 2009 at 4:00 pm EST on the Build It! track. The abstract will be posted shortly with more details to follow. afterburn, hal0, and teknick will be giving the talk but all members of the group will hopefully be there. CVORG will also be there as well so should be a fun time. Hope to see you all there!
EDIT: Abstract is now online!
