Lighting Controls

The IEEE student lounge lights use Florescent lights running at 277v. The task was to find a control method that would control the lights at the voltage and receive a signal that we would be sending the control as to when to turn off the lights. The idea we found to be the best was installing a A Button Style 240V-to-277V Photo-Control switch, this is essentially a dusk-to-dawn switch. To get this switch to work in the fashion that we want it to we will create a black cover over the switch to block out all light and install a LED inside the cover. The LED inside the cover will control the wall switch completely by turning on with a switch on the HCS08 board or the signal that we send to turn the LED on or off resulting in the lights being turned off.

The switche that we found for this was the button style.
