My name is Stephen Janansky and I am currently a Senior in the Computer Engineering program at the University of Delaware. Online you can find me going by the alias afterburn. I am a member of CVORG where I conduct research on security from a hardware perspective. One of my particular contributions was creation of an optical trojan on a Linksys WRT54GL for the group's DEFcon 16 presentation. For DEFcon 17 I coauthored a presentation with Nick Waite on powerline based hardware trojans. Besides the hardware security, I also conduct research on embedded systems, networking, computer security, and sensor networks.
Other interests also lie in Audio Engineering, Linux (distro of choice:Gentoo) , Network Security, and Wireless Communications. I am a registered General Class Amateur Radio operator and operate under the callsign KC2SWK.
