I'm Eric McGinnis, currently a sophomore at the University of Delaware enrolled in ELEG366 (Embedded Systems) over winter session. When I'm not in Newark, which is a rarity, I call the tiny town of Catasauqua, PA home.

• Currently, our group is working on a project entitled the_efficient_lounge However, that is not the only type of project that I'm interested in, though it is a great fit for this class.
• I am really interested in learning about interfacing with sensors for possible robotics projects in the future. Last year for a CISC class with Prof Harvey, I programmed a robot which would use bump sensors to create a visual map of the perimeter of a room on a computer (combination of C++ and just enough OpenGL). There are tons of small, cheap sensors that you can interface with a variety of microcontrollers or robotics platforms that can do some really neat things.
• I am also interested in making homemade media more accessible and central to our lives. Everyone has digital cameras and cell phones etc, but unlike the days where people took pictures and printed them out and proudly showed them off in photobooks, media now seems to be locked away on hard drives and flash cards and CDs. Few people organize their media and, since it can be so hard to find, don't share it as much as they could or should. It would be interesting to conceive a project where media becomes easier and more fun to share.

I have a PS3 and a Wii lying around here too somewhere, though the 360 is my console of choice. Also, if anyone ever wants to talk console modding/hacking for homebrew that has always interested me (Xbox in particular because there were so many great uses for it from Linux to XBMC). Also, same username on Steam if anyone is down for some Left 4 Dead. Love different types of movies, music etc and always willing to try new things. I play paintball, soccer, and basically whatever I'm in the mood for at the moment. I have also been told that I am a pretty decent cook.
