so final presentation was on thursday, and that went pretty smoothly. Overall, the course was a good experience for me to be exposed the college atmosphere and get a feel of what it's like. It allowed me to learn new things and meet new people. Going through this course, it made me more aware of technology and the things that go behind it all.

I just got back from Shmoocon today which was a good time. I enjoyed some talks and had a good time wandering around the convention. Hopefully i'll be there again next year.

As far as my part of the project goes, I'm basically in charge of creating the webpage to host our graphical analysis of the data we collect. This entitles me to learn HTML coding to create the project site. I've never created a webpage, so this is definitely something new for me to learn. I'm pretty sure the only coding I've ever done was back in middle school when everyone had myspace and I would format the page to my liking….yeah, not so much experience with coding. It's a good start though. It will be very useful knowledge to learn HTML for other things in the future. Well, let's see how this goes..

So, I got the e-mail back from the Dining hall services regarding our request to use the Kent Dining Hall to instill our hall sensor, and it turns out that they don't believe that our project is safe, so they asked our group to present our project in order to gain approval of whether or not we can put our project into the cafeteria. The only problem is, that it's the 4th week! We need that sensor in by this weekend, or we'll have nothing for next week! If it doesn't work out, we just plan on testing the sensor in the doorway…but hopefully, things will fall together by next week in time for our presentations.

so for this week, i have contacted Kent Dining Hall and Rodney Dining Hall. I previously contacted Russell Dining Hall, but it turned out that they were closed for winter session. They have yet to reply back to me. I also need to look into basic HTML coding for formatting and creating a webpage to host our project. I've never created a webpage before, so this should be interesting to learn how to.

Today in class, we learned about skimmers. It's crazy to know that someone could steal your information so easily..

So now we have two weeks left, and I can just imagine how everyone will be cramming to get in all our last minute details to hopefully successfully finish our project.

Our group met up to finalize the requirements of the project. I also got to know the members of my group more too, which was nice. They're all really cool people. Although the level of this project is way over my head, google has become my best friend. Everything I don't know, i just type it into the search engine, which is almost everything. So far, my assignment is creating the web page to host the graph analysis of the data which will be collected. I have no idea how to create websites, so again, google is my new best friend….

Going into this class, I knew nothing. So far, i have learned how to read data sheets, about IRC, and about RS232's, so far. And i'm sure this is only the beginning of the learning process I am about to endure by going through this project. Working with college level juniors and seniors is on a totally different level than high school students. I was uneasy about the ffact that i had no previous knowledge of computer engineering or electrical engineering subjects. Yet, I realized that this project our group is working on, no one really knows anything about the subject, we're all in the same process of learning. It is interesting to work at such a high level compared to where I am now in education. It is a great opportunity to be able to work with college students, and am glad that i was able to be exposed to such a great level. Hopefully through this project and class, I am able to gain a whole new knowledge about the field of computer and electrical engineering.
